Miranda: Collector's O-card, front
Her husband never came home from the war. Miranda is in no hurry to find out why.
The Po Valley, just after the Second World War. Miranda (Serena Grandi, The Great Beauty) runs a busy roadside inn and is still, officially, waiting for a husband who never came home from the front. Unofficially, she is in no hurry at all. A devoted young local, a wealthy older admirer and a charming American all want her, and she takes her time finding out what each of them has to offer.
Loosely based on Carlo Goldoni's classic comedy La Locandiera, this is Brass at his sunniest and most playful, set to a romantic score by Riz Ortolani. It is the role that made Grandi a star in Italy, Brass has said he rates it above The Key, and Fellini was reportedly a fan.
Until now it has only ever been on DVD here. Cult Films presents it uncut, with Italian, English and Spanish audio and brand new English subtitles.
